How to improve your listening skills

Hello, dear students!

I received the following question this week. I put it here because it's an interesting question. Enjoy it!

"How can I improve my listening skills?"

Well, you can put in practice some of the following tips:

* Try, first, to listen to the CD (it can be your own CD) without looking at the audioscripts. Get a sheet of paper and write down some words and/or expressions from the listening. Then, you can listen again to try to understand the story.

* Later, listen to the CD again and try to understand some details, some complete sentences. Of course, if the text is big, you can pause at some parts. It will become easier.

* After doing this, if you still present any difficulties, you can take a look at the audioscript (at the end of the book). When you practice, you will know that this procedure will not be so common, and you'll be independent.

* Another way of improving your listening skills is to listen to some English songs and read the lyrics.

* You can also watch some movies. Start with a movie that you already know, but put the subtitles in English to be easier to identify and associate the words. Later, you remove the subtitles and try other ones.

* Whe you gain more practice you can watch some videos and specific channels such as BBC World and CNN.

I hope you've liked this tip. Now, put it in practice!!! You'll see the results.

Have a nice week.

See you :)
