5) Phrasal verbs, prepositional verbs and verb-plus-preposition
a) Verb-plus-preposition.
Expl.: The prepositon complements the verb, that is, it has an aspect of position.
b) Phrasal verb.
Expl.: It's an intransitive phrasal verb, that is, it doesn't need to be followed by anything.
c) Verb-plus-preposition.
Expl.: The preposition gives an aspect of direction, as well as completes the verb.
d) Phrasal verb.
Expl.: The adverbial particle gives a new meaning to the verb.
e) Verb-plus-preposition.
Expl.: The preposition complements the verb, showing direction.
f) Prepositional verb.
Expl.: The preposition must precede its complement (noun group). It cannot be put in the middle position (between the verb and the preposition).
